... is a complex of buildings in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. It was originally built as a hospital and a retirement home for war veterans, and it still serves this purpose. It also contains many museums and monuments relating to France's military history, and the Dôme des Invalides, a large church which contains the tombs of some of France's war heroes, most notably Napoleon Bonaparte.
